1. - You are late. The discussion started 30 minutes ago.

-_____________________

  • A. Well, I don’t know.
  • B. I am really sorry.
  • C. Don’t blame me.

B(I am really sorry)

2. - How have you been lately, Molly

-_____________________

  • A. Not bad.
  • B. I was at home.
  • C. I am quite busy now.

A(Not bad)

How have you been lately 询问近况,Not bad 是自然的状态回答;地点和“现在很忙”都没有正面概括近况。

3. - I’m sorry. I am late due to the heavy traffic.

-_____________________

  • A. Well, it’s OK.
  • B. No, it’s all right.
  • C. You are welcome.

A(Well, it’s OK)

Well, it’s OK 与语境匹配;You are welcome 用于回应感谢。

4. - Do you think cosmetic surgery is more popular with women

-_____________________

  • A. Yes, women are more popular than men.
  • B. Yes, absolutely. Women pay more attention to beauty.
  • C. No, men are more popular than women.

5. - Let’s go to the library this afternoon.

-_____________________

  • A. No, I can’t.
  • B. What about you
  • C. That’s a good idea.

C(That’s a good idea)

That’s a good idea

6. He didn’t pass the exam this time __________ his headache.

  • A. thanks for
  • B. because of
  • C. because

B(because of)

7. If it __________ go to trial, I’m afraid the prosecution will have a field day criticizing our company in the press.

  • A. do
  • B. does
  • C. did

B(does)

8. The benefits of university __________ a positive, diverse environment must be seen by students.

  • A. for
  • B. as
  • C. with

建议答案:B(as)

9. The BBC has just successfully demonstrated a ____________ radio transmission system.

  • A. digestive
  • B. dignity
  • C. digital

C(digital)

10. He studied hard at school when he was young, __________ contributed a lot to his success.

  • A. which
  • B. that
  • C. what

A(which)

11. Every year thousands of lives __________ in road accidents because of careless driving.

  • A. are lost
  • B. lost
  • C. have lost

12. You should take ______ to give Mary the solutions she needs.

  • A. strategy
  • B. initiative
  • C. active

B(initiative)

13. The governments should __________ more educational funds for training teachers and improving school facilities.

  • A. set out

  • A. to depend on
  • B. depends on
  • C. depending on

C(depending on)

15. __________ the lawyer will come this afternoon.

  • A. May be
  • B. Maybe
  • C. May

B(Maybe)

16. He would be studying at the university now if he __________ the entrance examination.

  • A. passed
  • B. have passed
  • C. had passed

C(had passed)

17. I leave my house around at midnight and walk around the city __________ what I find.

  • A. gather
  • B. gathered
  • C. gathering

C(gathering)

18. I don’t know the park, but it’s __________ to be quite beautiful.

  • A. said
  • B. told
  • C. spoken

A(said)

解题思路:it is said to be…

19. I also create more __________, useable art out of the trash I find.

  • A. principal
  • B. actual
  • C. practical

C(practical)

20. Team spirit __________ their final success.

  • A. contributes to
  • B. causes
  • C. results from

A(contributes to)

  • B. McDonald’s has opened its restaurants in every city of the world.
  • C. McDonald’s has over 30,000 locations in the world now.

22. The word “ubiquitous” in Paragraph 2 is most likely to mean _______.

  • A. very crowded
  • B. very clean
  • C. existing everywhere

23. From Paragraph 2, we can conclude that _______.

  • A. McDonald’s designs its menu to suit the local people
  • B. millions of young adults got their first job with McDonald’s
  • C. the McDonald’s menu sticks to old-fashioned favorites such as the Big Mac

  • A. They destroyed a McDonald’s under construction.
  • B. They protested outside a McDonald’s.

25. In _______, an employee died in a fatal bomb attack on a McDonald’s restaurant in France.

  • A. 1998

26. People learn about what happened in the world through _______.

  • A. radio and television sets

若两类均出现,才可选择 both A and B。

  • A. no man lives on an island surrounded by water
  • B. every man belongs to some society

28. The passage suggests that newspaper has been published for about_______.

  • A. 300 years
  • B. 200 years

  • A. have become more isolated than people in Donne’s times
  • B. are affected more by whatever happens in the other parts of the world

  • A. more people are engaged in newspaper
  • B. new inventions are changing the techniques of newspaper publishing

31. The five men thought that the US foreign policy should be blamed for the 911 attack.

32. Scott Fenstermaker is the lawyer for Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali and four other men.

35. We can infer from the article that prisoners also have their freedom to express their own views in the USA.
